So, how does a Head Meteorological Service in the Air Force – which is what I was in 1996 – end up in organization consulting and HR advice? A question that I am often asked... In those years, and in that capacity I became increasingly involved in personnel matters, business processes and (re)organizations such as the completely changing strategies and role of the Air Force, the implementation of Total Quality Management, and the accelerating changes in business and ICT. I found that I enjoyed it and was good at it – which generally go together – and went on to make it my core business in 1996, as a management consultant with a then renowned management consultancy. To connect even better with the dynamics of this time and my desire of self-employment (but not “alone”), in 2010 I joined Flexian, which was then still more or less in its pioneering stage. Flexian is developing dynamically, which is shown among other things by being declared the winner in the category of management consultants of the National Business Success Awards in 2015.

In my capacity as consultant I focus on analyzing and developing functions and people in organizations. Actual services are primarily recruitment plus, career counseling and outplacement. In terms of industry, I feel very at home in areas such as Trade & Industry, Logistics, IT and Finance; the sober and analytical approach commonly found in these sectors resonates with me. In my private life my main focus is, of course, my partner and son, but from an early age it has also been athletics. Its purity, its balance in technique, physical as well as mental effort. Individual performance, measurability and contributing to the team are aspects of athletics that I still find very appealing as an active athlete. Similarities with my business activities are easily recognizable ....

In my 20 years’ experience as an external advisor, I am considered to be an objective and highly experienced assessor who pinpoints success factors and makes them measurable, with an eye for the interests of both client and candidate.
